Overview

Fehu (fé, feh, or feoh) is a rune found in the Elder Futhark, the Younger Futhark, and the Anglo-Saxon Futhorc.

Divinatory Meaning

Historically, cattle were symbolic of wealth. If a person owned many cows, it meant he had access to a great number of resources to maintain their health, which in turn meant he was a wealthy and prosperous individual. With Fehu, it means the same. This is the rune of wealth and prosperity.

The “wealth” in Fehu does not necessarily refer to money, though it certainly can. What Fehu truly denotes is manifested prosperity—a person is rich because they have an enriched existence. Having a lot of capital or “net worth” demonstrates wealth potential that can be used to create wealth manifested.

Upright

In divination, this rune concerns itself with the state of “richness” in one’s life. If the query is directly related to finances, it can refer to money itself. Otherwise it can refer to a quality of prosperity.

Reversed or In Opposition

In an oppositional position, it may refer to stinginess, frugality, poverty, excessive spending, or a dull existence.

Use in Bindrunes

Fehu can be used to increase fortune or to protect valuables.
