Overview

Iormungand is a giant serpent and one of Loki’s children with Angrboda. In the Norse myths, Odin throws him into the ocean where he grows to such massive size that his tail wraps around the earth for him to clutch in his jaws. One day he releases his tail, causing the world to shake for and all bindings to break free, which triggers Ragnarok. As an entity, Iormungand represents the feelings of dread and anxiety which lurk below the surface of our conscious thoughts.
