Overview
Niflheim (“world of mist”) is a cold and misty primordial realm of frost and ice. It is where the sulfuric Elivagar rivers run from the bubbling wellspring Hverglmire. Niflheim overlaps with Helheim and Niflhel, abodes of the dead. During the creation of Midgard, Niflheim was shoved far below the Earth so it would not freeze the world.
