Christianity has mingled with Heathen practice since its introduction to Northern Europe, which happened more than a thousand years ago. No form of Heathenry exists that hasn’t been influenced by Christianity’s presence. Despite this, it’s possible to separate “what is Christian” from “what is Heathen” if you clearly understand their differences.

Many people begin a Norse pagan practice assuming two things:

  1. That Christianity represents the “standard template” for all religions (when it’s, in fact, the global outlier)
  2. That the difference between Norse Paganism and Christianity lies solely in which gods are worshipped.
